Reason I Love NYC #1,293,452: Friends in Parades

Truth be told, I am not a huge fan of parades in NYC. Crowds annoy me. With the exception of the dozens of NYC (and a couple of San Francisco) Pride parades in which I have marched, I avoid them like the plague.

Enter my dear, wonderful, inspiring friend, Karen Colligan, who derives so much joy from marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade with her Irish Business Organization of New York, Inc., and I have a whole new vantage point from which to look at NYC parades.

Now I wait every year for Karen’s sash picture, and my heart swells knowing how much it means to her. That’s a great friend and a solid parade, crowds be damned.
